Pastoral Care & Prayer

Pastoral Care and Prayer

Our small groups provide a network of Pastoral care whereby, each member or attendee at HBC is attached to a small group which provide a place for fellowship, teaching, prayer, care and pastoral support. We also have a Pastoral deacon who can provide pastoral care on a one to one basis for general matters and a pastoral visitor who provides pastoral care to the sick and housebound. Pastoral matters of a more sensitive or personal nature are dealt with by the minister, Revd Mark Lawford who can be contacted on 01255 814617 to make an appointment.

Prayer is an important part of the life of HBC and various prayer initiatives are available.

Open Space: The church is open for private prayer and meditation on Mondays and Fridays between 10am – noon. This is temporarily suspended until the spring.

Friday Prayer: An opportunity to meet with others and offer up prayers to our God is available every Friday between 10.00am and noon in the back hall. Please come and join us.

Prayer Corner provides an opportunity for folk to write and post a prayer on the prayer board which is situated by the church hall entrance. For prayer requests of a confidential nature, there is a prayer box to also post prayer requests. This is opened weekly by our prayer deacon. You can either leave your name or remain anonymous, we will pray for you.

‘An Appointment With God’ meets weekly on Sundays at 9.30am. A number of folk gather before the morning service to begin the day in prayer.

Post Service Prayer Ministry: Following the morning service if you would like someone to pray for you, please just come and take a seat at the front of the church and our Pastoral deacon or Pastoral visitor (identified by red badges) will be available to pray with you. All matters are strictly confidential and you don’t even have to share anything if you don’t wish to, but we can still pray for you.

Outreach Prayer Gathering is held on the third Monday of the month when we meet at the manse from 12.30pm. Folk bring a packed lunch, refreshments are provided before spending about ¾ hour praying for various issues relating to our nation, country and local community.

Prayer and Healing Service is held bi-monthly at our evening service (check web site for dates). This service provides opportunity for folk to receive prayer for healing whether the need is physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
